We will then introduce the 3 Core Competencies, and spend our time understanding how they can dramatically increase your success.

The term Core Competencies refers to those essential elements in the sales process that most directly impact your success. These elements are controllable and measurable, and sales professionals can be trained to be proficient in these areas. Unfortunately, many sales organizations and individuals lose focus - distracted by peripheral activities or sophisticated systems that track dozens of different activities when only a handful really matters.

Without a foundation built upon these essential elements or Core Competencies, and because of all the distractions and roadblocks an organization is susceptible to today, results can be mediocre or less.
Take a look at the following list of items that are prevalent in the sales cycle, and select the items that you believe are absolutely essential to your success.
- Closing Sales
- Developing Prospect Lists
- Setting Appointments
- Running 1st Appointments
- Working Qualified Prospects through the Sales Pipeline
- Post-Sale Marketing
- Developing Referrals
- Reporting and Paperwork
- Documenting Testimonials

Many of these tasks are important, but they are not all sales performance competencies. Yes, it is important and useful to ask for referrals and develop testimonials from satisfied customers, but your success hinges mostly on the mastery of - and attention to - the Core sales Competencies.

One simple way to determine whether an activity, routine or task is truly a core sales competency is to ask what activities are directly linked to revenue.
After all, revenue is how we sales people measure success. That's our scorecard at the end of the month.

We can do that through a series of questions listed below.

Is it an essential component to the sales mission or is it just an ingredient in the recipe?

Separate necessary tasks in your sales day from key competencies.
Consider a golfer's essential competencies from tee-off to last putt. Is the core competency the ball - or the club? Or is it the golf swing and putting stroke?

As an example, Prospecting for new business is a necessary sales system to put in place for routine success. Within your Prospecting system are individual components for lead generation; things like customer referral programs, vendor collaboration programs, affinity programs, target information seminars and association programs. These are not authentic sales competencies but tactical vehicles for lead generation.

The actual sales competency is the 'Act of communicating the Business Reason to Meet' once you are given the opportunity to have a face-to-face or telephone conversation with your intended target prospect.
And the measurement of that competency, or key performance indicator, is the 'Conversation-to-appointment' ratio; how many times you ask for the business appointment versus how many times you achieve it.

Can it be measured routinely and accurately with a napkin, pencil, and calculator?

Just as measuring your 'Conversation-to-appointment' ratio; how many times you ask for the business appointment versus how many times you achieve it, your first appointment to proposal ration is a key performance indicator which make it also an essential sales performance competency, because the objective of your first appointment is advancing your sales process to the next step. That might be a demonstration, a site visit, a survey or a proposal.

The degree that you perform your 1st appointment sales process to achieve your 'Next Step' objective is measurable and will give you diagnostic feedback to your competency level parallel to your 1st appointment methodology and process.

Can you set a realistic performance benchmark tied to revenue goals?

Let's say you have diagnosed your sales performance competencies as converting target prospect conversations to appointments, converting 1st appointments to the 'next step' in your sales process and then closing the business from there. So that's (3) sales performance competencies; Conversation-to-appointment ratio, 1st appointment to proposal ratio and closing ratio.

How would you go about setting realistic performance benchmarks that the team can aspire to and measure themselves against?

To do so you need (3) more sales performance numbers; your average revenue per sale, your monthly revenue objective and your weekly activity number. Your weekly activity number is a derivative of your (3) sales performance competencies and your average revenue per sale parallel to your monthly revenue objective.

Here's an example of a sales manager in the document management industry. Her team's average revenue per sale is $3400. She calculates she needs to maintain a 1st appointment to proposal ratio of 65%. The closing ratio is set at 40%. Their individual monthly revenue goal is $25,000.
The derivative of these performance numbers is a weekly activity goal of (7) new appointments per rep, on average.

Next is the reality check. Are these performance numbers realistic to meet? Do they have the necessary skill-set and supporting tools to meet all the benchmarks and achieve the performance ratios and activity goal?

If not, what adjustments are needed in line with the benchmarks and what training is needed to achieve them?

Can you apply "Pin-point Training" and "Powerful Routines" around each core competency?

We know what training is, but do we understand why training fails? Timely training is NOT a seminar or one-time event. It requires appropriate structures for learning and application, defining useful short-term objectives, measuring progress, working closely with qualified trainers for follow-up and support, and most importantly, organizational commitment from the 'Top' down.

'Timely training' is focused on one sales performance competency at a time until the appropriate benchmark of performance is realized.

So if you can say it is directly tied to revenue (or your end result), is a skill set that can be trained to for improvement, and can be easily measured, it is a Sales Performance Competency.

Perhaps a golf analogy will help illustrate the power of the Business of Core Competencies. A self-professed "poor" golfer with a chronic slice might attempt to correct the problem by adjusting his stance - actually aiming away from the fairway so that the slice hopefully lands the ball in the middle.

In contrast, a low handicap golfer with a persistent slice might address the problem by adjusting their grip, rotating their hips, or the adjusting the arc of their swing. In other words, the good golfers address the core competencies of the swing vs. adjusting peripheral elements.

Off the golf course, in the sales arena, the opportunity for you is to identify, train to and measure sales performance competencies and performance metrics, and not just chase after quota.
By: Ali Wright

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

Information on sea flea can be found at the Flea Infestation site.

Sales Training Courses Teach The Importance Of The First 30 Seconds

>A question that is often asked on sales training courses is ‘how should I dress?’ I think this is a vitally important question. You see a prospect will subconsciously have a perception of you built up in their mind in the first 30 seconds to 1 minute of a sales call.

The old saying you only get one chance to make a good first impression is vital. Sales training courses will tell you that these first introductions are vital and we all know the importance of the firm but not wrestle mania type hand shake as opposed to the wet fish hand shake. We also know the importance of eye contact although we must always consider that all cultures are not the same and eye contact, handshakes etc may not be correct in some cultures.

When we think about eye contact, we really do tend to think of looking at someone in the eyes, but this s not necessarily true. Eye contact is really the face and the easiest way to think of this is if you were to imagine a triangle with the base line going across the eyebrows and the point of the triangle being the chin then eye contact is any of that space within the triangle. Eye to eye contact is slightly different and is known as the 2 I’s of eye contact the 2 Is stand for Intimate or Intimidating, so when your next sales training course talks about eye contact remember it is not really eyeball to eyeball.

So going back to that all important question; ‘how should I dress? It is as important to look and dress well, as it is to have good closing skills in a sale. Of course what you are selling and the sales environment you are working in will determine how you should dress, so there is no standard answer. I was told many years ago on a sales training course that sales people should always dress like the type of person that the prospect would go to for advice. Although this is not very clear it still does give an idea of how we should dress going in to a sales call.

The other thing with our dress sense is the better we feel about ourselves the more likely we are to sell. So if we think about it this way, how often have you been invited to a wedding and we go out and purchase new clothes for the occasion, the day of the wedding comes we obviously shower and put on the new clothes, we feel great.

In the one minute manager series books which are more geared towards management training than sales training it clearly states ‘people who feel good about themselves produce good results’

Sales training courses all over the country will emphasise the importance of first impressions and remember the first 30 seconds can count more than the next hour

There are several options available when looking for help to get management training. A guide to management and management concepts, strategies are available at college through certain business classes or courses. If you are already in a professional field and are unable to attend college then this training can be gained through seminars, conferences, evening classes and online training. This is the most convenient way to gain this training if you already have a job.

Management training is a large part of business college; here you can gain good insights into how to learn good management skills. If you are attending college then management training will probably occur or be integrated into your course. These courses can be tailored to suit your interests or career choice, for example if you wish to work with a profit company or a non profit company. The course will often break classes down so that each individual is given a chance to manage a small group and develop the management skills that are important in later life.

So if college is the best option for you then you will find you have two options, management training can be taken for personal achievement or even studied as a degree. Even if you are not working on a degree path in management then the courses you take regarding management can count towards getting on a degree. If credit towards a degree is not something that you are looking for then training can also be offered in a continuing education course, which is less intense than a college course.

However, if you have already completed your degree and are on your career path then management training is offered through workshops or seminars that many reputable companies offer online. The seminars may be offered throughout the day either onsite or offsite. Offsite management training will often be supplied by the company and paid for this way. However if your company does not offer this, then you can finance your own management training.

A new concept in training that has recently started is online seminars, which work with a trainer presenting a course that is streamed live. This obviously has the benefit of allowing workers to stay onsite but also being able to communicate directly with the trainer, asking questions and such. Overall finding management training locally really isn't too difficult at all; trade publications also publish lists of events in the area.

Article Source: http://www.articlesnatch.com

About the Author:
Dominic Donaldson is an expert in the training industry.
Find out more about Management Training and how the services available can help with furthering your career.

Management Training - The Key to Corporate Success

A Project is a provisional and exclusive endeavor, with a characterized starting and end, to come to exact goals and objectives inside time, allowance and mechanical constraints. We can do everything there - including shopping and educating. So why not to choose this way to earn some money? Get know what are the advantages of e-commerce.

Small costs
Having an e-commerce doesn't cost so much. In fact, at the beginning it might not cost you at all - cause you just need a computer, access to the Internet and a little bit of time to make the business work. And you don't need anything else - simple and cheap, isn't?

Freedom
Working in the e-commerce you have a freedom to do what you wish with your business and time you have. You are the boss! You don't have to listen to orders that someone will give you. There is no time limit - you organize your work on your own and work when you like and have a mind to it.

Do what you like
If you are interested in something you can realise your passion by making money of it. That is the way how you can combine work and pleasure - change hobby for something you can actually live of. In example, if you like fishing you can share this passion with others and in the same time promote some fishing equipment.

Big audience
Thanks to the global reach of the Internet our e-commerce can get to a lot of people, much more than we would find locally. Internet is connecting people from around the world and there is nothing that might stop in example people from Spain to find your business in UK and buy something. And normally you wouldn't reach those people at all.

Easy promotion
There is an easy way to promote the website in the Internet - you don't have to put a lot of effort and money in it but just make the nice content on your website, connect with people, write on their blogs and people will get to know about you sooner or later (rather sooner).

Choosing the path of e-commerce we can easily change our future, become wealthy people and start working for ourselves. There are only benefits here!

If you don't have an ecommerce and work in a business world you would be definitely interested in improving you leadership skills and try management training too.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Matthew_Sorrow

Age Factors In Sales And Management Training

Image by Getty Images via Daylife

I want to spend some time discussing the difference, obstacles and advantages of training for sales and management within different age groups. I have and still on a daily basis have been blessed with the opportunity to train both the very young and the...we'll call them experienced... sales persons.

One of the most obvious is the young, open mind opposed to the experienced person that has predetermined ideas. I have found that there is an upside to both! It is definitely true that the young salesperson has an open mind that is readily cultivated and eager to learn, while the experienced person coming in with a predetermined notion has to be shown that that the person doing the training not only is his or her equal but also somehow has more knowledge than them. Not easy to pull off unless you really are better and have a lot to offer.

While the young mind is easy to impress it is incumbent upon the trainer to teach the young salesperson the right way with integrity or you could ruin him or her forever.

Unfortunately, the experienced person usually has an "I know everything" attitude and you have to break through that before the learning process can begin. If you can break through, the training is a lot less tedious because they usually have a lot of the basic skills, even some advanced skills. They also bring the baggage of some bad habits. With the young person, even though their mind is open, you are literally starting with a blank canvas. There is a lot to teach!

I find enjoyment from training both.

I have found that the reason a young person wants in on the sales profession is quite different than his or her older counterpart. The young person is a great deal of the time looking for validation that he or she cannot find in routine jobs. They love the excitement, the contests, the fun, but most of all they like being part of a team that is motivated to be all for one...almost like belonging to a club, if you will. The idea of the big money that lures many into sales is not a major factor to the young person and I am not sure that they believe it anyway. They want their job to be fun and they love the excitement of possibly winning trips and awards that give their life validation.

On the other hand the older sales professional is almost 100 take them to where they want to go. It still is just part of the formula. They still must have mentors.

On the other side of the equation, the experienced sales training professional, just like in a lot of marriages, has let the flame on the candle not shine through quite as brightly. Also, just like in marriage, you have to constantly stoke the flame. Keep the love burning.

Well, in our great profession so many experienced sales persons have all but let the candle extinguish. Imagine what a professional you would have if you could have the experience and the youthful enthusiasm. WOW! Each group brings a lot to the table. I have found and encouraged the approach that the young can and should learn from the more experienced and the more experienced should definitely take a refresher course from these youngsters on the proper attitude and enthusiasm in which to attack their profession.

By: Charles Kettner

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

greatsales-thespecialist.com www.strangeratthedoor.com

The 10 Basic Principles Of Project Management

Image via Wikipedia

There are a number of significant principles which determine success in any project. These are simple and well known principles, however they are difficult to apply and are quite frequently ignored in practice.

1. Precise Business Needs

Successful projects are business driven. This represents the 'why' of the project, and it is important because it provides the basis for all decision making.

2. Defined Benefits

Projects are about translating the business need into the business benefit. In addition to the business need, the 'bottom line' benefits must also be well defined in terms of source, timing and quantity.

3. Explicit Plans

Effective planning, allows people to work together in a co-ordinated way in order to achieve the project objectives. Effective planning is dependent on being at an appropriate level of detail and being presented in an appropriate way.

4. Agreed Deliverables

Quite simply a 'deliverable' is an unambiguous way of defining responsibilities in terms of outputs rather than inputs. Each phase, area and task within the project plan should have a tangible deliverable associated with it, ie. something that one can see, touch, or otherwise validate.

5. Pro-Active Decision Making

Project work has little momentum of its own, unlike routine work. All parties involved are therefore required to take the initiative and actively look for ways of driving and improving the project outcome.

6. Single Point Responsibility

In business tasks are only completed successfully when people have unambiguous accountabilities. 'Single point responsibility' for results is of the very essence. The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for making the project happen.

7. Active Follow-Up

Plans have practical value only when they are used to help people do their daily work. They are similarly used as a means of identifying problems while there is still time to overcome them. Plans must therefore be used throughout the entire project in order to allocate tasks and monitor achievement.

8. Open Communications

Time must be invested in communication as it is the key to a successful project. By effectively communicating the project and issues everyone involved has the opportunity to take the initiative and contribute fully with ideas and decisions.

9. Good Teamwork (Team Development)

Teamwork in projects is absolutely critical but does not happen automatically. Project work involves people from different parts of the organisation, often with competing priorities and different perspectives, which can make teamwork all the more difficult to achieve. Teams must therefore be actively developed by the Project Manager.

10. Strong Leadership

Successful projects are usually led by an individual who is committed to the project objectives, and who has a completely clear view of where the project is going and how they intend to get there. The leadership qualities of the Project Manager are as important as their technical management skills.

By: Jesper Clarke

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

PM Partners & Project Management

Management Training In The Workplace

Over the years, companies have been struggling to develop a better workplace and overcome problems and obstacles that may hinder or delay them from reaching their respective organizational goals. Rampant workplace issues such as low morale employees may cause them to be inefficient in their jobs, producing far below the company-expected output thus resulting to lower profit. A bad workplace could also mean higher employee turnover rate- the ratio between the number of employees a company must replace in a given time period to the average number of total employees. Companies are very much conscious about their employee turnover rate since talent acquisition costs money. Job advertising, new hire training, not to mention productivity lost and other indirect costs are incurred during the hiring process. And to do it every now and then to fill in empty positions becomes burdensome for companies.

To address these issues, most companies have resorted to conventional management practices such as performance based incentive systems. Though additional pay and privileges may seem to be a practical solution in changing work performance, management experts, and as other companies found out, point out that in today's working environment performance based incentive systems is not as effective as it is sought to be in the long run. Many experts are now acknowledging the impact of accountability in the workplace as a good means to solving corporate issues.

What is accountability and how could it help improve the workplace? Accountability is a concept wherein one is willing to accept responsibility in case problems or things undesirable happen. Accountability in workplaces is important as it does not only address the real issues that needs to be confronted, it also avoids people from being hooked into finding an excuse to blame or pass the responsibility to others instead of directly coming up with the right solution. Exposing employees to corporate training that explores the idea of creating greater accountability gives them the chance to develop their full potential as an important part of the company. Knowing that they are accountable gives them the feeling of being needed boosting their morale. But accountability training should be met with the right approach. This is why as a part of creating greater accountability in every level of the organization, business leaders are encouraged to take part in executive leadership coaching that steps out of the outdated management concepts.

By: Rusty F. Usually you get to stay in a nice hotel, eat some good food and socialize with like-minded people, all at the company's expense! It's an added bonus if the course is interesting and stimulating and starts you thinking about ways to tackle problems back at work.

When you return rested, and full of bright ideas, what are you met with? The more cynical of your colleagues tell you how they have been busy doing some "real work" whilst you've been away. The rest give you some knowing looks whilst you try a few new techniques, thinking, correctly, that you'll soon be back to your old ways. Soon the training course is a dusty memory.

Is this a cynical view or a realistic one? In 1993 research by US Academics Detterman and Sternberg reported that 90% of all training is a waste of time and money. A lot of business training is not producing the performance improvements that the organisation desires. How do we tackle this problem?

One approach is to properly evaluate the effectiveness of the training that is being carried out. Donald L Kirkpatrick put forward a useful model in his 1975 book Evaluating Training Programs. He suggested thinking about how effective a course had been on four levels:

1.) What was the reaction of the student to the course, how did they feel about it, did they enjoy it, did it feel useful to their job role? This can be measured by an evaluation form.

2.) What did the student learn? This can be discovered by setting an exam or conducting an interview.

3.) How has the individual's behaviour changed as a result of the course? This is more difficult to measure and needs to be done in an objective way over time by either the individual's manager or their peers. One approach is to use a 360-degree review.

4.) How have their business results changed? Once again this needs to be done over time and in an objective way. In some jobs, results are easier to calculate, for example in sales. For other roles, more thought is required to identify the key performance indicators.

By adopting this sort approach we can start to develop a structured and objective way of evaluating how training is helping the organisation. This should help to weed out unnecessary expenditure on courses that have been authorised for the wrong reasons.

Another problem with training is that it does not work in isolation. People need back up over a period of time to help implement new ideas. What seemed great in theory in the classroom can seem dauntingly difficult to implement in the workplace. It's useful to have continued support, maybe by regularly doing executive coaching.

Unfortunately there are still many organisations that do not approach training in this way. Understanding why time is wasted in an organization and how to eliminate the causes of time wastage. To establish their own time management system or to improve upon their existing time management system after taking into consideration the concepts and ideas discussed in the program.

The art of time is about putting every hour, minute and second into productive work. So lets do it...

Lets give our bodies a 5 hour sleep period as it necessary for health. If you are not young then you can sleep for 6-7 hours max. The point here is that sleep is a good thing, it refreshes your body and with no activity your brain power can rest. It is important to have a great sleep.

So we are left with only 19 hours now, Lets make these hours really work for you. Before you jump into filling up you daily schedule with lots of tasks lets take a step backwards. Look back to the past week or so, what are the most important things you need to for the future. If you have immediate tasks and responsibilities coming up then they take the higher priority so make a list of them. Now, try to come up with a long list of everything you think you should be doing for today. A long list is a very detailed list in case you didn't know. Divide each task into smaller elements, for example, if you are going to write an article then dividing it into little tasks mean counting research, inspiration, draft write up, link baiting, to finalizing draft and publishing it. Knowing the little details allow you to dedicate a certain amount of time to each task this way if you thought writing a article would only take an hour would not end costing you 2 hours on researching alone. Keep doing this for all the tasks you have to do for the day.

Listing all the stuff in your time sheet is not enough, you have to actually stick to it and perform each of them to the second, so if you assigned yourself with 20 minutes of research as soon as your 20 minutes are up stop the research and move on to the next task. Don't worry if your research sucks, you don't expect to become extremely efficient in just one day did you?

Only the Practice will make you perfect! the first a few days are going to be rough but after that your brain and positive energy adjust themselves to your new routine. The trick is not to go back to the old you, it's like quitting smoking for 2 days but picking it up again, you won't problem free because of those 2 days.

When your level of efficiency picks up you'll realize that before you were spending 2 hours on research like tasks that were getting you no where to now that you can do resulting research in just 15 minutes. Now just imagine with your new level of efficiency if you had 2 hours to do tasks you normally do in 15 minutes, imagine the glorious results. This is actually how quality and innovation happens. You can apply this to almost any task you can imagine. I personally even analyze my driving, shopping, online surfing, books and magazine readings and everything else you can imagine.

I only started to really care about my time since mid last year and it has done wonders for me in terms of my performance at work, my side projects and running multiple sites and managing couple of web projects. Without managing my time i would have never been able to take care of 2 projects let alone the things i do now!

Time Management is one of those important elements that contribute to any type of success. Manage your time effectively and efficiently and you'll be able to manage every thing in your life from your house to million $$$ empire.

By: imkhan

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

We provide management training seminars, onsite corporate training programs selling skills training, business management training programs, online management training, management training in india, online management training courses. and if you are looking for a motivational, keynote or Inspirational Speaking for your next convention, sales team meeting, dealer conference or employee meeting, you have reached the right place. www.management-training1.com - Management Traning

Customer Relationship Management And Growth Of Business

A satisfied customer base spells G of “growth” in capital for all business ventures irrespective of the industry they serve and their scale of operation. Every investment must be researched – and that includes an investment in training and development for your sales staff.

Sales training courses, or even one powerful sales course, can increase sales, motivate your staff, reduce staff turnover, and build your company's credentials. A powerful sales course is one that fills and replenishes the express needs of the sales team and exceeds company objectives with the highest efficiency rate. The efficiency rate can not be determined without evaluating the return on investment the sales course will provide in the future; however, by thoroughly evaluating your sales team, your company and the sales training courses offered you will be able to find the sales course or sales training courses that will meet your goals.

No sales course or sales training courses should be committed to without determining the need for training. Even if the HR department is suggesting company training for no other reason than to satisfy company policy, a thorough determination of the training needs should first be determined. To accurately and narrowly define the training needs of your sales force, and to be able to select the sales courses and sales training courses for your sales team, you must systematically evaluate every task, process and policy. By drawing logical inferences from questioning and cross-examining, you will be able to narrowly define your sales training need and select the sales courses and sales training courses that meet your objective.

Once you clearly define the needs for the sales development staff, you should then examine your sales course choices based on the subject, the trainer, the company providing the courses, the content, the sales staff and your company.

The subject must clearly coincide with your accurately defined need. Review the subject matter of the sales course and sales training courses for engaging, problem-solving, concise and usable material and motivational delivery methods. The trainer and the sales course provider should have the credentials to train. In many cases, the higher the credentials the better the training – but this is not true in all cases. Personality and method can drive effective training just as it drives sales.

The sales course or sales training courses you choose should clearly match the culture of your company. If you run a tight organization that adheres to strict standards, you would not want to invest in a course that expounds on the virtues of flexibility and freedom. This will backlash. Likewise, if your company is very flexible and focuses on individual creativity and ability, a sales training course in strict time management might stifle the creativity of your team (even if they need it).

Sales course evaluation and analysis of sales training courses will save your company from investing in ineffective training. Without sales course evaluation, your company might show a spike in motivation and sales, however it will quickly fall and taper as the refreshing beverage wears down. Sales course evaluation and analysis of sales training courses will turn the short spike into a solid step upwards. Each carefully evaluated sales course will be one more solid step up. And up is where you want your sales to be.

By: Avi Solutions

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

Deakon: Professional Sales Training, Sales Courses, Sales Course in Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane. If we try to have close look on different projects taking place in various corners of the world, they all are being initiated under tight budgets with fewer resources than ever before. Apart from this, project-based business is growing bigger and bigger every single day.

In last few years’ modern business are no longer based on just operations. More and more key business initiatives are now subject to a defined project plan, with specified deliverables and time constraints. These days every manager is expected to do more with less. In such an environment, a good saying for project management is, "Do It, Do It Right, and Do It Right Now." Creating clear directions, timely response and quality outcomes are the demand of current scenario. The art of project management has gradually changed and as a result of this today the art of effective project management requires a new type of skill base.

Project managers need to develop a new type of skill base. It’s very unfortunate that today accidental project managers' are on the rise. Moreover, it is estimated that almost 2/3 of employees in project manager roles lack the necessary guidance and understanding essential to accomplish successful projects. A recent survey conducted by independent research agency has shown that 58% of people surveyed agree that their projects rarely meet time, cost and quality targets. Accordingly the importance of project management training and certification is on the rise.

Project management is a critical role within a project that acts as the ‘glue’ in bringing diverse competencies together and coordinating the current of information between them. In fact it is the demand of present scenario and project manager must be able to play several functions including an advisor, a planner, a manager, and effective communicators and a businessperson. The challenge for the Project Manager consists of attracting the correct resources, shaping a solid team, keeping the team motivated, meeting individual aspirations and getting the work done - all within scope, cost, time, and customer satisfaction.

Thus project management training can help project managers understand the what, why, and how of the discipline. Apart from this, project management training also help these project managers in understanding:
• What are the fundamental skills project managers need to be effective and how to develop them
• Why business and project alignment is essential for project management success and how to get it

The basic purpose of project management training is to educate and train project managers with the ability to foresee as many dangers and problems as possible and control activities so that the project is completed as successfully as possible in spite of all the risks.

Today, project management training has revolved around the benefits of a set framework of principles and various practices that are a part of effective project management. The result-oriented approach of effective project management training makes it easy for project managers to develop concepts of good project management and deliberately apply their knowledge into their projects.

AstroWix is one of the leading organizations to offer world-class training on project management. The skill set is completely different and without management training remains so. What makes a great winner of litigation does not make a good administrator. What goes into an accurate, on time set of ledgers does not make for an effective people coach. Merely giving a lawyer the title of 'practice manager' does not transform them into a manager. He is not like Clark Kent stepping into a phone booth and emerging as Superman.

The Peter Principal?

The 'Peter Principle is the single most persuasive argument for lawyers and accountants to take on regular management training. The Peter Principle was first put forward in the book of the same name and states..."In a hierarchy every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence." This seminal comedic management treatise was first published in 1968, but don't you just feel that it is as true today as it has always been true? Management training is essential not just for lawyers and accountants but also for all professions.

Dr. Laurence J. Peter was the first to express the truism, that people in a hierarchy are promoted to the next level as long as they work competently. Without effective management training all organizations have a tendency towards bureaucracy and away from meritocracy so that sooner or later each lawyer or accountant will arrive in a position for which they are no longer competent. They find their 'level of incompetence' and as their managers become disillusioned with their performance it is at this level of incompetence that they stay. All of the real work is done by those employees who have not yet reached their level of incompetence.

Incompetency is The Disease. Management Training Is The Cure.

The only way for law and accountancy firms to counteract the Peter principle is to invest heavily and continuously in the management training of their people. It is not enough for lawyers to be experts and specialists in various areas of the law. They need to quickly acquire and apply the people motivating skills of professional management. An accountant who can operate a computerized book keeping system with ease but cannot lead a team to high performance will inevitably lose money for his or her employer.

Some of the key skills to be had through management training are:

ü Recruitment, selection and interviewing.
ü Leading effective meetings.
ü Leading high performance teams.
ü Training others.
ü Maximizing the performance of others.
ü Dealing with under-performance.
ü Handling disciplinary issues.
ü Coaching for high performance.

Incompetency and a low level of performance can very quickly become the cultural norm in organizations where management training is treated as just another initiative or fad. It requires a systematic consistent approach so that continuous professional management development is the cultural norm. Management training is not a cost, it is an investment. It requires to be approached as an investment and the returns from it needs to be evaluated and improved continuously. Leaders who think management training is too expensive soon learn that the Peter principle is far moreso.

By: Avi Solutions

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

NLP 4 Advisors aims to provide different yet essential professional and personal development skills, including management training, communication and performance training.

Team Building - What Makes A Winning Team

How do you generate a victorious team, or in the corporate environment, a notable company? The response is: a beneficial spirit and a victorious agenda.

The executives and presidents take care of the agenda, but maintaining a beneficial team spirit is the job of team builders and managers.

Beneficial thinking and team building is a motivational force in getting the best performance out of workers, as well as continuing to keep them happy. Furthermore, workers should believe in their team, or their business as well as the directive. They should trust their managerial team and trust the other members, remembering that everyone is working towards the same goal.

Elements of Team Building
How do you go about arranging a successful team building meeting, which in turn will help to strengthen the unision and performance of a team?

The primary factors are: the event to be enjoyable, even amusement (there's no law that says work has to be a miserable, humourless place); the meeting should teach something fundamental and clearly communicate the lesson to all team members; workers should be educated how to apply what they find out in their usual routine; and team building meetings and exercises should be scheduled often. This is the basic composition of what team building involves.
But there are many variations that managers and educators can use to more effectively communicate with their workers.

Some managers find that bringing a sense of competition to the exercises, as with team building games, is an effective way of motivating workers for the short and long term. If all this is your goal, you might try dividing your team into two or more smaller teams and having them compete against each other in various games and exercises. This works exceedingly well in improving team spirit and helping workers to be motivated about their assignments.

The importance Of Strategy
A supervisor or team builder must hold a clear agenda in mind before arranging the event, during the event, and in following up afterwards. Good team planning involves knowing in advance the goal of the meeting and what goals you're trying to accomplish.
Is there an issue in work performance or in motivating workers to do their best?

Is there new information that has to be shared or is establishing trust a priority?

All of this should be evaluated in advance of the meeting and incorporated into the team building activities. You should structure the team exercises and the team(s) itself in a manner that is most helpful to achieving the goal.

Communication is also exceedingly fundamental. You should communicate the same goals to your workers in a clear and organised way, so that they can take home with them the key points of the meeting, even if they don't remember every item covered. Instructions on what each member should do should be clear and handed to each team member so that no one will be left in the dark.

Knowing team building involves knowing your team—personally and professionally. A team builder realises that even small details like designing teams, or assigning certain individuals with others, can be either a liability or an advantage. Consequently a team builder should become acquainted with the workers personally, and also be perceptive of the momentous archetypes of business traits.
Good agenda and preparation make a victorious team!

By: Brian Middle

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

To read more about the different types of team building challenges you can arrange for your team, visit www.team-building-tips.co.uk. Leaders place a high value on being able to see things through different lenses. Successful problem solving teams and project teams value individual differences as the means of arriving at innovative ways to meeting their goals.

Most of us - based on our personal set of values, experiences, and a wide variety of other factors, develop a unique view of whatever we come in contact with. We each see things a little differently. In those differences lies tremendous value to ourselves and to others. It can be our greatest strength.

The keys in valuing differences as key to team success involve two dimensions.

The first is the external dimension - the overall team dimension. It's the team's ability to encourage, listen to and use the differences of team members to arrive at solutions and processes that far exceed in value and impact what any one member could provide. It can get messy. There is no learning without conflict. The ability to focus that conflict constructively is the highest order of skill in a team.

The external team dimension requires three critical elements to maximize the value of individual differences.

1 - Clear unambiguous structure focused on the goals of the team. Clear goals, sufficient resources, and effective team composition that recognizes cross functional contribution are all crucial to team success.

2 - An investment in team development of communication skills and the development of an understanding and acceptance of different behaviors, values and skills as essential to the best possible outcome.

3 - It's crucial that leadership and sponsorship of teams be assigned to the top line leaders who will directly benefit from the team's contribution, as the means of keeping focus on results.

The second dimension - the internal dimension - is the ability and willingness of qualified individual team members to value differences and share their unique perspectives.

This internal dimension requires the following from individual team members

1 - The conviction that the power of the group is greater than the power of any single individual.

2 - A willingness to share with others - and the communication skills to do so.

3 - An attitude and belief in plenty - plenty of opportunity for contribution, plenty of recognition for participation, plenty of reward for accomplishment.

4 - Having trust in their own perceptions - and believing their view is as valuable as anyone else's.

5 - Persistence in presenting individual views - while at the same time broadening individual views through listening and interacting with the views of others.

6 - A climate and culture that accepts and encourages differences.

7 - The maturity to persist even after individual views are not accepted as part of the solution.

8 - A respect for leadership and a respect for followership. In any team, as the process of solving problems and defining projects evolves, different people often take leadership.

9 - The optimism and conviction that the answer to most team challenges is right around the corner - getting around that corner requires looking at things differently.

There are few more powerful ways to leverage talent in any organization than through the use of teams. And yet, in many cases, teams don't meet expectations. In my experience, failure to value and build on differences is one of the main reasons for poor performance.

Take the internal and external dimension requirements from this article and see how team efforts in your organization can be improved. Maximize the unique value every person brings to the table.

By:

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

Andy Cox helps his clients select and develop teams and talent. Have a huge group of people to direct? Being a leader is a great responsibility. To make it a little bit easier it's worth to develop a team working in the group.

Surprised? When people are working more like a team than as a single person it's much easier to handle such group. People are more willing to work together and more willing to listen the leader. Of course it is best to make such course for the whole group with the leader too.

There are several team development courses that workers, leaders and coworkers can have. Below you can find three most important types of team development training with their objectives:

1. Optimising team performance. This course might help in forming a common language that is needed for team members understand each other and communicate more effectively. Such training might also benefit in individuals - in terms of their own personal development and self awareness. So discovering and sharing their preferences by MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator), allow team members learn to appreciate their differences and know each other better.

2. Creative team work. Its objective is to address the need for teams to collaborate closely and creatively in a competitive market. This type of course might be very interesting to participate in it. It is using techniques from the theatre, by which the delegates will learn how to develop a multiplicity of ideas to shape an imaginative project. The course also aims to explore trust, commitment and communication in successful teamwork.

3. Team development with prism. It help to develop a successful team by creating a fresh and "progressive" mentality. The four key areas that will concentrate on are communication, motivation, focus and responsibility. By concentrating on these areas, the team is becoming aware of its own strengths and weaknesses and knows how to work together with a common goal in mind.

These are only three examples of courses. But what else can we tell about team development? In many occupies team working is essential to gain a success. Having only leaders at work might have more bad effects than not having any. When working at the team the objects are common and sense of responsibility is bigger - we are responsible for the whole team. So the key to success at work might be successful team building.

When people know that they are part of bigger plan and bigger community they are more likely to give all their strength and hopes to this community and its aim. When employers in a big company feel that they are not only simple elements but they build this company together the success of their work is sure.

By: michal costaminnego

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

Learn more about team development, sales training and leadership training in the UK.

Sales Training And Sales Programs For The Natural Born Seller

Sales training and sales programs can benefit even the natural born seller. Advanced sales training and sales programs get down and dirty into the specific skills that manifest excellence in sales management. Effective management releases more time for developing new sales.

Sales courses from professional sales training and sales programs will provide you with the educational certification you need to advance your sales career from a sales team member to a sales manager. Sales training and sales programs will also give you the edge you need to excel within a corporate sales team. Whether you are looking to move up the career ladder in a big corporation, or get a grasp on sales management for your own small personal business, a sales course from a sales training program that offers concrete skills in sales management will move your reputation from being the best on your sales force to being an example of skilled excellence.

Excellence carries with it knowledge, prestige and success. Furthering your career by developing skills in the more technical and precise aspects of selling through sales training and sale programs gives you the background for achieving excellence.

There exists extensive technological applications that can assist the sales person in creating and developing sales leads, maintaining sales leads, and following up on sales leads – but without a knowledge of today's business conditions and modern sales techniques – sales technology will do little to move the natural born seller to sales management excellence.

Excellence in sales skills requires technical skills – even for the natural born salesperson. Client relationships must be managed, time management skills must be refined for productivity and efficiency, sales facts and figures must be accounted for and analyzed, and customer resource management should be understood. If you need to develop these skills and other technical sales skills to advance your career, a sales course from sales programs and sales training will provide you with the education and training you need to develop and refine your sales management skills. Sales courses for certification can easily get your sales career on the fast track to sales management.

Sales courses from sales programs and sales training will also keep you up to date with the fast-changing nature of business development and sales transactions. Appropriate sales training and sales programs and courses for certification can also shift your career from individual sales to B2B sales. Sales training and sales programs that deliver tricks, techniques and technicalities on the most intricate elements of sales development will produce a sales manager that exemplifies and demands excellence from the sales team - and especially demand excellence from him or herself.

Sales training and sales courses are the solution for career advancement and personal development for the sales professional. Even natural born sales persons need to keep up with the future. This is done with advanced sales training by taking sales courses for lifetime continuing education. The salesperson must stay ahead of the prospective customer. A sales personality is a driver – but mastering the skills it takes to manage the fruits of that personality can turn a natural born seller into a supernatural sales manager.
By: Avi Solutions

Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com

Deakon: Professional Sales Training, Sales Courses, Sales Course in Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane. Sales courses for sales managers invests in the sales team. If your sales manager is trained to motivate the sales staff to reach their goals – your company will achieve your sales.

Sales courses and sales training courses for sales management training can train a sales manager to create a sales staff that is eager to reach the company's sales goals. A trained and motivated sales manager can have a significant impact on its team, even in a traditional tight or robotic company culture. Motivational sales courses are refreshing, and can help liven a passive sales team. However, a sales manager that takes advanced sales training courses in motivation as well as communication, coaching, and issuing non-authoritative directives – together with performance measuring, accountability, staff and territory management, and goal setting – has a winning combination of skills to train, encourage and motivate the sales staff to reach the company's sales goals.

Both the sales staff and sales management should participate in sales programs and sales training courses, although not necessarily the same sales training courses. In order to be effective sales managers, sales managers should receive continuous training in new sales standards, techniques and modern practices as well as sales training courses in management techniques and skills. The sales manager needs to consistently contribute to the growth of the sales force, individually and as a team. If the sales force feels they have nothing to learn from the sales manager, their attitude will lower the sales manager's effectiveness. Investing in the sales manager invests in the sales team.

The sales staff works directly with the sales manager on a daily basis, and sees the sales manager as a person. Sales people are naturally receptive to other people – and naturally more receptive to a sales manager than a red and black graph sketched on a whiteboard at the most recent sales meeting. The sales manager has the fastest route to creating an impression and facilitating action, changes in behavior and processes, and retaining a motivating company climate for the sales department.
